CEO and Founder of Zah Holdings Rethabile Hlalele, or Thabi as she is affectionately known is a Woman of Valor, Daughter, Mother, Radio Presenter, Entrepreneur, Liberty Radio Award Nominee and Domestic Violence Survivor.

She began her studies in journalism at Pretoria Technikon, now the Tshwane University of Technology, in 1999 and pursued a career in radio as a presenter and newsreader in 2001 at Peoples Choice Radio, popularly known as PC FM, in Maseru, Lesotho. In her tenure there from 2001 to 2010, she headed up the programming department as Programmes Manager.

She later stepped out of the shadow of radio for a few years pursuing other interests in business, with a special interest in the event management industry. She pursued the industry and later completed a course in  Events Management through the University of Cape Town.

However the radio bug kept calling and ultimately she returned to the studio in 2017  joining the Life and Style Media group as Radio Presenter and Content Producer at 88FM Radio Life and Style in Ballito,KZN.

Her talents were recognized nationally where she was nominated for the South African acclaimed Liberty Radio Awards, in 2019. The annual awards programme draws entries from all sectors of the radio industry and is regarded as the “Oscars” of the South African radio industry.

Today Thabi enjoys exploring fun and innovative ways to incorporate business and her love for people into her philanthropic work. She loves engaging with like-minded people locally and globally. She is an Ambassador for South Africa under the UK based organization Smartsociates.

With over 20 years in the media industry, she has also been invited to present at various conferences and workshops. She continues to share her knowledge, skills and experience in the media world and consults for local radio stations in training their presenters and radio teams.

Thabi is an active advocate against Gender-Based Violence, a cause she is very passionate about and continues to share her story and first-hand experience of domestic violence to encourage other victims to change their lives and situations.
